Confirming the firmware version:

• Turn on the Nikon D800E
• Press the MENU button and select Firmware Version from the setup menu.The camera’s firmware version will be displayed.
• Turn off the Nikon D800E

Basic Download and Nikon D800E Installation instructions for Windows and Macintosh:

1. Create a new folder with an appropriate name on your computer.
2. Choose the correct download below for the computer system you are using below, and save the download to the folder created in step 1.
3. Run the downloaded file to create the folder titled D800EUpdate, containing the following file: D800E_0110.bin.
4. Format an approved memory card in the camera, then remove .
5. Copy the the D800E_0110.bin file to the top level of the memory card using a memory card reader or similar device, do not copy the file into any folder on the memory card.
6. Insert memory card into the cameras memory card slot, and switch on.
7. Select Firmware Version from the setup menu and follow the instructions displayed to upgrade the Nikon D800E camera’s firmware.
8. DO NOT switch off the camera at any time during the update, doing so may result in the need for service.
9. After the upgrade is complete, trun the camera off and remove the memory card.
10. Check the cameras firmware version to be sure it completed.
11. Format memory card in camera for use.

• Custom Setting f13 has been changed to Assign Movie Record Button.With Custom Setting f13 changed to Assign Movie Record Button, Assign MB-D12 AF-ON is now Custom Setting f14.Custom Setting f15: Assign Remote Fn Button has been added.The following functions have been added or renamed when the D800 is used with the Communication Unit UT-1 running firmware Ver. 2.0. A Network (UT-1) option has been added to, and Wireless transmitter has been renamed Wireless transmitter (WT-4) in, the setup menu.
